WILL GREALISH BE AT VILLA NEXT SEASON?

Fans of Aston Villa football club will be hoping that the club can do everything it takes to tie down star player Jack Grealish beyond this summer. The England international midfielder has been the club’s best player in the past seasons but continues to have doubts about his future, with a host of clubs showing interest in luring him away from Villa Park.

Grealish was said to be close to joining Manchester United last summer as the Red Devils were highly interested in taking him to Old Trafford, but their failure to bend to Aston Villa’s demands meant that they would not be able to sign him. The club captain then eventually agreed to, and signed a new deal that would keep him at the club for a further five years.

The reported fee that Aston Villa were asking for last summer was close to £100 million, a fee Manchester United were very much unwilling to fork out due to the financial impact they had as a result of the outbreak of the coronavirus pandemic. As the forthcoming summer transfer window approaches, the Red Devils have once again been linked with a possible transfer move for the England midfielder but there is still no word from the involved parties as to whether there are going to be negotiations.

United’s noisy neighbors Manchester City are said to have entered the equation and are also interested in signing Grealish, but the Etihad club may not be as strongly interested as the Old Trafford outfit.

Villa manager Dean Smith has said that he would cherish the idea of the midfielder staying at the club for a long time because he provides motivation to his teammates and has a lot of qualities that Villa need in the long run.
