Scarce color footage from the British Pathe Archive of the 1957 FA Cup Ultimate between Aston Villa and Manchester United. Villa went on to win the match two-one with two objectives from Peter McParland. Captain Johnny Dixon is observed collecting the trophy from the Queen and kissing the Cup on the pitch.

@barbarian981 Sorry mate,,even the cup final before that..69..Leicester v Manchester City was in Colour…
@29au81 1970 Chelsea v Leeds , in my opinion.
There is more colour footage of the pre munich United team playing at Burnley. It was filmed on the 19th April 1957, The Burnley management team requsted a local film maker to shoot the footage. Interestingly united are playing in their 3rd kit, Blue!

wow, amazing footage and still very clear. Thanks so much for posting
This film would have been shown on the Pathe Newsreel in cinemas. Rest In Peace Johnny Dixon. A true Villa gentleman.
I think the first cup final to be broadcast live in colour was the 1968 final between WBA v Everton
great vid thanks for uploading it
As if this was the last time we won the FA Cup :'(
I’d always thought 1960 was the first colour cup final. Thanks for posting as this must surely be the only colour footgae available of the pre Munich United
